Friday Street Canopy
A long standing client engaged CT Glass to supply the glass panels for a canopy in a prominent London location near St Paul’s Cathedral.
The brief for the offices on Friday Street, London, was to replace an existing canopy which had become weathered and damaged.
As the product had faded over the years colour matching was difficult. CT Glass therefore conducted several colour tests and site visits to ensure that it was to the clients specification.
CT also experimented with various techniques, and as sandblasting was the closest match, this method was chosen.
Why CT Glass?
CT were selected due to their attention to detail and for “going the extra mile”, proven in previous projects for this client. With the Friday Street Canopy, CT proved themselves once again of this ability.
Due to the large size of the panels, CT Glass organised bespoke transport arrangements to ensure early delivery, avoiding congestion for passing traffic on a busy main road. This also minimised the opportunity for damage.
CT provided a selection of toughened laminated glass panels with a sandblasted finish to the upper surface, which was then protected with a Ritec coating. This meant that, once in situ the canopy became easy to maintain and keep clean
