Leeds United at Elland Road
Glass balustrades were required for outside the corporate boxes at the Leeds United Stadium at Elland Road.
CT Glass were asked to supply 19 pieces of triple laminated with an extra strength Sentry Glass Plus interlayer to be installed in front of the 19 corporate boxes. These consisted of 57 peices of glass in total to form the 19 panels, comprising three layers of 10mm toughened and two 1.5mm interlayers, giving an overall thickness of 33mm.
Why CT Glass?
The project had an urgent timescale The glass had to be installed in time for a fixture against Manchester United in order to meet safety standards for the large crowd, otherwise the corporate boxes wouldn’t be able to be opened that evening. CT Glass were able to turn around the project in one week to meet the deadline.
The glass was installed and the boxes were able to be used, preventing an otherwise large loss of income from the club. The original handrail was no longer deamed high enough in front of the steep steps. The introduction of the glass panels has imrpoved the saftey standards and brought the facility up to date.
