Style for Southend Station
A long standing client and leading Architectural Metalworker in the Midlands, engaged CT Glass to supply the laminated glass panels for canopies at the newly built Southend Airport Railway Station. The brief was to provide a ‘clear’ canopy for the entrance area, providing a light and open feel, with an opaque option for the platforms to give shade from the sun.
CT Glass produced various samples for the two different areas to ensure that it was to the clients specification. The final specification was for 21.5mm Clear Toughened Laminated glass for the entrance and 21.5mm Toughened Laminate with a solid white pvb interlayer for the platform area.
Why CT Glass?
CT were selected due to their attention to detail and for “going the extra mile”, proven in previous projects for this client. Due to the large size of the specialist panels, CT Glass were able to organise bespoke transport arrangements to ensure early delivery, which also minimised the opportunity for damage.
CT provided a selection of toughened laminated glass panels, some with a white interlayer to help give the Station a light and open feeling while still providing protection from the elements.
